The users of the LHC Grid
In response to the
recommendations of the "HEPCAL
RTAG" the Grid Application Group (GAG) was setup by
SC2 at the beginning of 2003.
The first major activity
of GAG was the definitions of the requirements for HEP analysis
on the GRID. The resulting document (HEPCAL
II) has been delivered to PEB at the end of 2003.
In paralle with the
preparation of HEPCAL II, the GAG has revised the HEPCAL document, issuing the
so-called HEPCAL-prime (doc, pdf)
report at the beginning of 2004.
With the changes in
the structure of the LCG project, and the start of the EGEE project,
the mandate of
GAG has been redefined by LCG.
The main objectives
of GAG are:
- Own common requirements on GRID MW
- Monitor and provide common / consolidated feed-back on the
use of LCG
- Provide feedback on MW
GAG reports to the PEB.
